One of the projects I'm presently hacking away at is a sequel to last years fun filled release Mashopolos. I'm going to try and avoid the usual not-as-good-as-the-original issues normally associated with sequels (like the fact that they're often crap) whilst retaining the general sequel formula (better production value, lots of stars and a stupid name). I'll be posting tunes as they're completed here on this blog. Once all 10 tracks are done I'll format them into an album and stick it on the downloads page. Please note that whilst I'm happy to make these tunes public, they are still "early versions" and will undoubtedly find themselves being tweaked - so if there's anything you like here, be sure to download it again once it's been moved. Enjoy!

Imagine if James Hetfield (Metallica's once screaming, now yodelling front man) grew up in Canada instead of California. Imagine he was brought up by a working class lumberjack family and instead of donning ripped denim and leather he instead got about in un-torn denim and checkered flannel. Let's pretend that this Canadian Hetfield's first guitar wasn't a Gibson Flying V but rather a Strat. Finally, imagine that instead of meeting Lars Ulrich and Bob Rock on his way to super stardom he actually met Jim Vallance and Bob Clearmountain.
Got all that? Right, here's what it would have sounded like...
Yep, it's that time again folks! Time to send some un-suspecting metal band to an exotic location. Some of you will remember that we've already sent these guys to the Punjab in India (see Mashopolos). This time we're packing them off to the minaret studded Turkish city of Istanbul - where their apocalyptic song of environmental destruction Blackened is given a spicier, more flavorsome touch!
I was in Istanbul about a year and a half ago on an overnight stop. I spent the evening strolling throughout the old town and along the Bosphorus where numerous street hawkers sold their wares. The only thing I bought was an MP3 CD packed with Turkish pop albums. Hearing the tunes pumped over the seller's distorted speakers I knew immediately this was mashup material!

Sean from Metal Postcard played me his vinyl of Waters Of Nazareth last year when I was in New York, I'd never heard such filthy bass before! He told me if I was to mash this up real good - the kids would love it! Well, here goes! This is a double first for me - my first bona fide dance-floor-friendly track and my first Beatles mash. Enjoy!
